The idea of having a lie detector (polygraph) test carried out for some can be quite a daunting experience. Most people will have only seen such tests being carried out in a movie when the character is strapped up with loads of wires attached to them and being asked questions by some government agency. It looks mysterious, can be amusing and also glamorous.
The reality of a lie detector test is quite straightforward and nothing to be nervous about. There are no bright lights shone in your eyes, strapped to a chair, thousands of wires attached all over you or government agency staff.
